GROVER WASHINGTON JR.
Grover Washington Jr. (1943-1999) is considered by many to be one of the founding fathers of smooth jazz. Washingon was an American jazz, funk and soul musician who originally toured with 'The Four Clefs' and recorded some of the genre’s most memorable tunes, including 'Mr. Magic' and 'Black Frost'. Four months before his untimely death in 1999 Grover recorded an album of 19th century opera. The album fulfilled a life long dream and confirmed Grover’s musical genius. His early death was a great loss to the music world.
