Clément Philibert Léo Delibes ( (February 21, 1836 – January 16, 1891) was a French composer of ballets, operas & other works for stage. A student at the Paris Conservatoire, Delibes achieved fame in 1870 with ‘Coppélia’, a sentimental comic ballet. He composed various operas, most notably the Lakmé (1883) featuring ‘Légende du Paria’ & ‘The Flower Duet’, which featured in British Airways adverts during the 1990s.
